Showing 12 reviewsthe boar bristles are too short, and the plastic ones have those little balls on the end. the balls come off and the bristles become extremely sharp and cause scalp irritation because of it. it's also extremely hard to clean so I've given up. I only use this brush to brush my hair when it's dirty right before showering so I don't make my good brush gross or hurt my scalp by using it too much. this is extremely expensive for the quality
I love this brush so much! I was skeptical to buy at first because I assumed it wasn't ethnic hair friendly, but I was wrong! This brush gathers and detangles your week to two week old silk press. It polishes the hair so that it still gives that fresh luster and you still have that body wave like bounce. I was also able to use it to put my hair in a ponytail or half up/half down style easily. It's multi-functional. I'm so happy I bought this. I'm going to order 2 back ups just in case I'm not able to find it in the future.
I was never big on brushes I always just used the same Wet Brush and went about my day. One day though I heard about the benefits of using a boar brush and how it helps distribute oil from the scalp, so I decided to buy this brush. I bought this brush over a year ago and I absolutely love it! I was actually coming on Ulta to see if they still sold them to buy another and decided to leave a review. I feel like it definitely does help with oil distribution. It's also really nice how the bristles on this brush are soft and feel JUST LIKE the wet brush. I was worried about that before I bought it that the actual nylon bristles wouldn't be soft and would tug my hair too much (I have fine hair). But nope! I still have my wet brush and compared them side by side, the nylon bristles feel exactly the same. I definitely recommend this brush!
I have fine, fairly straight hair but a lot of it. This brush doesn't quite touch my scalp sometimes until it's completely brushed out. The point of a boar bristle brush is to disperse your scalp's natural oils, so it doesn't quite do the job there. It is very gentle. Can be used on wet hair. It doesn't rip or break my hair. It's really great for smoothing, and didn't make my hair staticky. The brush honestly smells like feet when you get it. I needs to be washed and aired out. Love the size, it's nice and big which is great if you have a lot of hair. Pic is after I brushed my hair without any product. I would recommend this brush for the price. Feels sturdy and well made.
I began using this type of double bristled brush years ago as it detangles and softens my long hair beautifully. I was looking to replace my old one and thought this would be a good choice despite it being twice the price of my old brush. And although this brush has a nice wide paddle and feels very sturdy in my hand, I noticed that the plastic bristles in between the boar bristles are shorter on this brush than on my old one. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult to brush deeply and reach the under side of my hair. I have to separate my hair into sections before brushing and I have to clean the brush out after almost every use.😢
I eat a lot of avocado and my hair gets greasy on the scalp very fast, and not on the ends, so I needed a brush that will distribute the oil everywhere, polishes the gray kinky hairs, and give a lot of shine. This brush does all that, plus is pretty, very lightweight, nice shape, and works fantastic for its purpose !! I feel that my hair has more life now, it's shinier, and more straight. It's a little more expensive than others, but it's made with the perfect weight balance to enjoy brushing morning & night.
wanted to update my review. eventually the little balls on the plastic bristles wear down or fall off and then the brush becomes very scratchy and rough on the scalp. I can actually see them going flat and becoming sharp compared to the bristle tips that don't touch my scalp. I have had 2 of these brushes do this so it's definitely a quality issue from the manufacturer. They were nice before this happened but I no longer recommend these brushes.
I'm glad I waited for this brush to go on sale. It has a pretty design, light weight, and it's a boar bristle brush that gets through thick straight hair. It catches all my strands and can reach the scalp as I brush through it.
In the first few months of use, I was very pleased with the product. However, the little nubs on each bristle would fall off and scratch my scalp! Never spent this amount of money on a single brush to have it end up hurting me. Cannot recommend this to anyone if this is what will happen!
Nice brush, I didn't notice a bad smell, it just smells like rubber if you smell it up close. It detangles/smoothes hair easily, and has a nice large paddle
I bought because it looked pearlescent online, it is not. :( Mine also came with some sort of goo/adhesive on the back that i cant get off. However it is a nice brush and I think I will try to exchange and get a clean one, maybe I can paint the back to be pearlescent and make is aesthetically pleasing.
The brush is very light and long hair can be brushed perfectly with it. The design stands out from the crowd, as I have hardly seen such a pattern from other manufacturers and the color is unisex, which I really like. The quality is also worth the price.
