Keep this flyaway hairs tame!

When I need to touch up my curls to eliminate frizz in between washes, this product lives up to my greatest expectations! The smell is fresh and light, and the formula is not to heavy for my curls. with just a little bit of this hair balm, I'm able to refresh my curls even several days after my last wash! The round container is easy to "dip" my fingers into to get enough product to make those flyaway hairs smooth and shiny. I love that this balm doesn't make my hair feel sticky, oily, or crunchy. This balm also helps me keep my hair smooth when I decide to straighten my curls, as I did here in this photo. It really helps keep the humidity at bay!

Perfect for curly hairs

I fell in love with this product and use it daily because of how well it works with my curly hair. It truly helps with frizz and dryness. After applying a little amount it makes my curls look nice and in shape. I have dry hairs, so it always tend to have frizz naturally. I use the defining gel cream, gel and balm during a week to keep my curls in a beautiful shape. I love the texture, not thick not thin, not greasy or sticky. It is light and moisturizing. I also love the scent. These products are amazing and smell luxurious. Now all I use to treat my hairs is Ouidad hair products and I am happy with the results. I highly recommend these products and this brand!

It does temporarily lay down frizz

I don't love this (and apparently Ouidad is suppressing negative reviews, which is shady) but I do like it ok in some situations. It's good if your hair gets too big but hasn't lost it's bounce and curl. Absolutely do not scrunch it in, rub a small amount in palms till warm then do praying hands, sliding your hands tightly and agressively down your hair as though trying to pull out the curl. Like your hands are a flat iron. It won't pull out the curl and does add shine and lays down frizz. What it won't do, and what I'm usually looking to do as a "touch up", is bring back bounce and organization. If your curls are stretched out from a ponytail or in a tumbleweed from wind, this will not help. If humidity has given you frizz but it's otherwise ok, this will help.

Good balm but...

I got the honor of testing this Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Frizz-Fighting Touch-Up Balm (and coordinating products) complimentary for my honest feedback. The balm took some getting used to. It is very thick, and once it is 'warmed' in your hand, it is easier to apply. The smell was not my favorite, but it was mild, so I did not notice a lingering scent after application. I will say it did not leave my hair feeling filmy as many balms and creams can do, and it did help with frizz and curl control. Although I did see a positive result with this product, it was probably not enough for me to use it on a daily basis. However, don't let that deter you from trying it if you need something to tame your curls and frizz.

Figured it out

OK I did figure this out. Both this and the gel-cream work great if your hair is getting big and frizzy, not so well if it's gotten stretched out at all. They sort of deflate the hair. But this stuff, the balm, is so much better than the pomade for smoothing right after "scrunching out the crunch". I put it in both hands, rub them together, then with one hand on top of hair and one beneath, squeeze them together HARD and pull my hands downward. Like push them so tight together it's like I want to straighten the hair with my hands. Do not be gentle or afraid. This does make it less frizzy and more shiny. Still cannot use it to refresh, because it does not reshape at all, and in general my refresh concerns lean toward drooping not exploding. Usually. My hair type is coarse, strong, and wavy curly or loose curls in the Ouidad typing.

Pass

For reference, I have 3C low porosity hair. Retaining moisture is the biggest thing to keep my hair healthy. This balm did me no justice.. instructions say to apply to dry hair (recommended to use the gel 1st, which I did). This balm stinks like sour/chemicals. And applying a wax-like balm to dry coily hair is probably the worst thing you can do it. It’s not slippery enough, even when warmed in between my palms. My curls where not left refreshed, but rather sticky and hard. After applying the gel and balm, I HAD to mist water onto my curls for them to be somewhat normal. Not a pleasant experience using this product, I don’t recommend.

Leaves curls soft and manageable

Not great for my sensitive scalp. My skin started to itch after a few uses. This styling mousse provides great volume and a light hold. Perfect for my curly hair. Lightweight feel with impressive curl control.

So helpful on high humidity days

This product is for wavy/curly hair. This product just like the other two is lightly scented. It smells like a flower. This balm is applied to dry hair. Since this is a balm you do have to warm it up in your hands to melt it a bit. It does not take a lot. This balm helps cut back on the frizz. It does not completely get rid of frizzy hair but it does help tame it. With this balm you can tell you have product in your hair. It does help maintain your curls and keep them in place. Overall with all the Ouidad products I have tried I do like them. They really do help on high humidity days.

Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Frizz-Fighting Tou

To conclude this Ouidad trio is the Advanced Climate Control Frizz Fighting Touch-Up Balm. One is advised to use this balm last after the mask and gel cream. My first observation is this balm is very sticky & thick, seeming like it would be difficult to work into my hair after all the fussing I had previously done with the gel. And unfortunately I was right. I've applied it to my hair both damp & dry. With each instance I was met with resistance in working it into my hair. Tangling was a major issue while incorporating this balm. As a result some of my hair became so knotted around my fingers that it was ripped out in a clump. I finally gave up & proceeded to wait for my hair to absorb it which took about an hour. I plan to continue use of the mask & gel. But overall for the reasons mentioned above this Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Frizz Fighting Touch-Up Balm has not proven useful to me and sadly that is why I must give it only 1 star. But that does not mean it couldn't be helpful to someone else so I do recommend giving it a shot!

Ok....

Can't say I really have a use for this product. The texture is like hair grease that my mom uses to put on my scalp when I was a little girl. Once u start to rub/emulsify it, it turns into an oily kind of texture. I did not use it on my ends very much. It did not weigh my hair down. I had my hair brushed back in a ponytail and it started to become undone after a few days. I used it to try to slick back the hairs from my hairline all the way back to the hair tie. I feel like a hair styling cream would have worked better but it did give my hair a nice shine using it this way. I didn't use this on my ends so much because they are normally braided up. Maybe if my hair was straightened on a regular basis this would be a more ideal product for my ends. But this does smell amazing

Really liked this!

Ouidad is a cruelty-free brand I had never tried before, so I was excited to do so. The Advanced Climate Control Frizz-Fighting Hydrating Touch-Up Balm was probably my favorite of the 3 products I tried. It made my hair so shiny! It took a bit of work to figure out the right amount for my hair, but it was worth the effort. Overall, the Ouidad products seem to work well together to fight frizz and make hair shiny. They also smell lovely, not too strong. However, they didn’t do a great job at defining curls.

Not for me

The Frizz-Fighting Touch-Up Balm didn’t work out well for me. It was incredibly hard to apply to my hair, I tried rubbing my hands together to warm it up to hopefully get it to apply to my hair easier but that didn’t work, when trying to run it through my hair, it just tangles my hair. I used a very small amount on my hair and even then it left my hair very greasy and my hair would stick together. Very odd feeling. It’s like rubbing chapped stick in your hair. I can see how this would work, but I’m assuming my hair type wasn’t the right type for this product!
